Caprese Salad

Caprese Salad

This fresh, simple, light salad never disappoints, especially when tomatoes are in season! 

  • Fresh sliced tomatoes
  • Basil leaves
  • Fresh Mozzarella

Layer everything beautifully on a platter, or on individual plates.

Topped with:
  • Coarse salt (could use Vanilla salt if you want)
  • Olive oil
  • Madagascar Wild pepper
  • Balsamic Vinegar reduction (recipe below)

Balsamic Reduction

  • 1 1/2 c. Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 T. Maple syrup
  • Caviar from one vanilla bean

Combine everything together (including the pod of the bean) and simmer until it coats the back of a spoon. Remove pod, let cool.
