Caprese Salad
This fresh, simple, light salad never disappoints, especially when tomatoes are in season!
- Fresh sliced tomatoes
- Basil leaves
- Fresh Mozzarella
Layer everything beautifully on a platter, or on individual plates.
Topped with:
- Coarse salt (could use Vanilla salt if you want)
- Olive oil
- Madagascar Wild pepper
- Balsamic Vinegar reduction (recipe below)
Balsamic Reduction
- 1 1/2 c. Balsamic vinegar
- 2 T. Maple syrup
- Caviar from one vanilla bean
Combine everything together (including the pod of the bean) and simmer until it coats the back of a spoon. Remove pod, let cool.
