Salted Caramel Butter Bars

Easy, delightful treats with vanilla infused in every morsel!

Cream together butter and sugars until smooth and airy. Whip in the vanilla. Add the flour 1 cup at a time, mixing between each addition until the dough is smooth. Add the salt with the final cup of flour. 
Press 2/3 of the dough mixture into a 13x9 pan. Pour the salted caramel sauce all over the top of the dough. Sprinkle chunks of the remaining dough all over the top of the caramel sauce. Don't press it in or even it out--the crumble on top gives it texture and charm! 
Bake 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown on the edges and bubbly in the middle. Let cool for 30 minutes before cutting. If desired, drizzle finished bars with more caramel sauce and a sprinkle of vanilla salt.
