- 20 ounces thick sliced bacon
- 2 tablespoons vanilla paste
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Lay out the bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet with sides. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit** for 20 minutes. Mix together vanilla paste, pepper, and brown sugar to make a crumbly, rub-like mixture. After the first 20 minutes of baking, take the bacon out of the oven, and drain off as much bacon grease as possible (either by mopping it up with paper towels and a pair of tongs or some other safe procedure). Sprinkle the bacon with the vanilla sugar mixture. Bake another 15-25 minutes until bacon is crispy and the sugar has caramelized on top. Let drain and cool on a cooling rack so you don't scorch your tongue when you chow down on this deliciousness.
