Say hello to the world's most popular and plentiful vanilla bean variety! Dark, pliable, and soft, these Madagascar V. planifolia Bourbon cured vanilla beans are perfect for use in desserts, for vanilla sugar, or extract. The aroma is classic vanilla, enriched with our favorite hints of cream, caramel, and butter. This variety are grade A, at least 13 cm in length.  They are cured using the Bourbon method which refers to the Bourbon Islands, not a type of alcohol. Approximately 8-10 beans per ounce.

These beans have a “4 ounce” option, giving you a savings over the single ounce pricy.

Beans purchased by the ounce will be shipped in a selection of one or two-ounce vacuum bags to make up the total number of ounces ordered. The "four-ounce" option will be four ounces in one vacuum sealed package.

I got a 4 ounce pack of these and initially I was disappointed that they were so tiny and not very plump like the other 2 types I got. But because of this, I was able to experiment a little with bean to alcohol ratio a little more and not feel bad for cutting a bean in half or anything. So they're perfect size for having a more accurate ratio for experiments. Lol
Theyre pretty oily but in comparison to the other beans i got, it was underwhelming. And they felt a tad more crispy than the others I got. This could be due to their size, not sure. Nothing wrong with them. I would love if they had plumper ones. But it's very possible that it's just how the madagascar vanilla grows..
I am over all happy with this purchase and will definately buy them again. Probably soon lol

Oh right...
I made 2 jars with this one.
Both jars are 5 ounce jam jars.
I used 6 beans slit down the middle with half inch on both ends still in tact. Firm push with the knife to slit both sides at the same time.
6 beans per jar. So 12 beans total.
I bought the 4 oz pack... roughly 30 beans were included I used about ⅓ of the beans for the 2 jars.
One of the jars I added approximately 16 coffee beans, dark roast (major Dickinson from peets coffee, it's one of their most oily and strong coffees) . . The other jar I added a cinnamon stick. I broke the cinnamon stick in half to fit in the jar.

The cinnamon jar I used kraken spiced rum and the coffee jar I used Jim beam bourbon.
