Bag O' Beans

This is a muslin bag filled with dried pieces of "rescue" vanilla beans. We lovingly call these "BOBs." These are vanilla beans that we could not sell whole, typically because they had a small amount of damage or spoilage. We have removed and discarded the spoilage, cut the beans into small pieces, rinsed them in rum as a cleanser, and then dehydrated them fully. Once they're crispy dry, we put them in breathable fabric bags. They aren't toxic, but because of their history we can't list them as food grade. 

As for how to use them, the choice is yours! We envisioned them to be a little air freshener/potpourri sack great for putting in a drawer or suitcase to make towels or socks nice and fresh, something like that. Some people like to open the bag and use the bean pieces to make sugar or salt scrubs, body balm, lotion or bath bombs. The beans are dry, so their scent is not strong, but you could drop them into a simmer pot to set on the back of the stove, or infuse in oil to bring out the scent.  Each bag contains 3 ounces of dry bean pieces.
