Extract grade beans are too short to be labeled and sold as Grade A. They have small amounts of vanilla caviar inside that could potentially be used for recipes, but really do well for making vanilla extract. This listing may be any of the varieties sold on this site. They will come labeled by variety but the selection will change based on what we have in stock. We recommend a ratio of at least 1 oz of beans per cup of 80 proof alcohol to make homemade vanilla extract.
While this listing could include any variety of vanilla beans, Indri's Vanilla Bean Group has occasionally run group buys on extract grade or mixed varieties of vanilla beans, and any extras are sold here. These group orders include "Guinan," "Holodeck," "O'Brien," "Tanager," "Quail," "Albatross," "Weasley," and "Cedric."
Beans purchased by the ounce will be shipped in a selection of one, two, three or four ounce vacuum bags to make up the total number of ounces ordered.
