Cacao Nibs are pieces of fresh cacao beans that have been crumbled and roasted. They have a rich dark chocolate flavor with a natural sweetness, though they haven't been sweetened or processed into chocolate bars. These can be further processed into chocolate, or they can be ground and brewed like coffee for a unique hot beverage. We like using these in lieu of chocolate chips (but note, they're much darker and stronger in flavor than sweetened chocolate chips), especially in smoothies or baked goods. They can also be used to make chocolate extract, the same way vanilla beans are used. Cacao nibs are rich in flavonoids and antioxidants, are a good source of fiber, magnesium, iron, and potassium, and are gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan.

Net weight is 4 ounces per package, which is about 1 cup of cacao nibs. These cacao beans were grown in Tanzania.
