Vanilla Bean Board, Handmade in Bluff Fort
Vanilla Bean Board, Handmade in Bluff Fort
Don't cut or scrape your vanilla beans on the same board you've used for onions or garlic! When you have a board that you use only for vanilla beans, you won't contaminate your beans with other smells or flavors.
These new boards were designed and created by Bryce, the Dad/Grandpa of our small business. Bryce and Laurie are currently serving a volunteer service mission in the beautiful desert of southeastern Utah, at an 1800's-era outpost called Bluff Fort. We are thrilled to be teaming up with the amazing folks who care for Bluff Fort and preserve and educate about its history. We're equally thrilled that we have figured out a way to continue sharing some of our Dad's stunning craftsmanship, even though there's a lot more miles between us now than there used to be!
The boards are hand crafted from solid maple hardwood, and have been laser embossed with a vanilla bean and V. planifolia orchid on the top, and the "Bluff Fort Handmade" emblem on the back. They have been rubbed with a light coating of our vanilla wood balm, made from beeswax and vanilla infused organic fractionated coconut oil.
Each board comes with a fabric storage bag to keep it clean and ready for vanilla cutting, scraping or chopping. The vanilla bean boards are approximately 8 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches, and are approximately 1 inch thick. There may be some variation in size, as no two trees are alike, nor is the wood they produce.
To keep your board in perfect condition, wash with mild soap and water, then rub in some vanilla wood balm, sold here on IndriVanilla.com.
